An annual open brewery event

The 33rd Kai no Kaiun Sake Brewery Open House will be held on February 21 (Saturday) and 22 (Sunday), 2026, at Ide Brewery. This is a once-a-year event where visitors can enjoy an open-house experience at a traditional sake brewery.

Event Schedule

The event will be divided into two sessions each day.

The morning session runs from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM (last entry at 11:30 AM), and the afternoon session from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM (last entry at 3:00 PM). Please note that entry is not permitted between 11:30 AM and 1:00 PM.

Admission & Included Items

The admission fee is ¥1,000 per person (tax included). Admission is free for high school students and younger. After registration, participants will receive a tasting glass with holder, a sake tasting quiz ticket, one tasting of freshly pressed sake, and one complimentary cup of “Kin-jirushi” sake.

Guests who drink alcohol will receive a pink identification marker, while non-drinkers will receive a blue marker, ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for everyone.

What to Enjoy at the Venue

After check-in, guests can join the sake tasting quiz and sample freshly pressed, non-commercial sake. Additional paid tastings will also be available, and the complimentary Kin-jirushi sake coupon can be used at the tasting area.

Approximately 11 local vendors are expected to participate this year, offering food and drinks from the Mt. Fuji northern area. A popular sake lees experience (paid) will also be available.

Free Talks & Special Programs

The event also features free, brewery-opening–exclusive programs:

Local History Talk

A talk on the history of the Mt. Fuji northern area by a curator from Fujikawaguchiko Town.

Talk with the Brewers

Brewers from Ide Brewery will share stories and insights about sake brewing.

Transportation & Collaboration Programs

Special transportation plans, including direct buses and limited trains, will be available again this year. These options allow guests to enjoy the afternoon session without worrying about return travel. Participants will also have a chance to win exclusive Kurabiraki sake through a lottery on the day of the event.
